⁹ Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, ¹⁰ and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus,^(A) they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”^(B)

¹¹ He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?^{(C) 12} How much more valuable is a person than a sheep!^(D) Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

¹³ Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.

¹¹ and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years.^(A) She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. ¹² When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” ¹³ Then he put his hands on her,^(B) and immediately she straightened up and praised God.

¹⁴ Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath,^(C) the synagogue leader^(D) said to the people, “There are six days for work.^(E) So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
